Samaj Kalyan Vibhag or Social Welfare Department

Samaj Kalyan Vibhag is nothing but Social Welfare Department which implements scholarship schemes for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, living below the poverty line of the general category. Samaj Kalyan Vibhag provides work related to education by voluntary organizations and schemes related to financial assistance given to them. state up gradation slums Scheme for maintenance of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Prevention Act, 1989. Samaj Kalyan Vibhag has scholarship scheme, book bank scheme for scheduled castes / tribes, fee reimbursement scheme, non-recurring assistance scheme, technical education facilities e.t.c. It shortly implements Ashram Vidyalaya schools and hostels, plans to provide marriage / sickness grant to Scheduled Castes.

Assistance is being provided to the destitute, poor, disabled, and social and economic rehabilitation of senior citizens in accordance with the provisions of the Assistance Act, 1970 as amended 2010 .  The Social Welfare Department has been authorized as the nodal department for conducting schemes for the welfare of third gender persons. For them, the provision of sanction of grant-in-aid for the projects of skill up gradation (beauty parlor, catering, fashion design, tailoring etc) has been made.

Senior citizens of 60 years and above have been started as "Pilgrimage Scheme" for the free travel of various pilgrimage sites outside the state, as per the eligibility date of 04 December, 2012. Under this scheme senior citizens will be benefited once in their lifetime.
